Paxton Proximity Metal Reader

The Paxton Proximity Metal Reader is designed to seamlessly integrate with Switch2 and Net2 systems. The reader features a robust, cast metal housing with a satin chrome finish that ensures durability while maintaining a refined aesthetic appeal. The unique construction of the reader, housed within a metal frame, significantly reduces its susceptibility to interference when installed close to other metal objects. This characteristic makes it an ideal choice for installations on metal door frames, car park reader posts, and similar structures.

We have advanced our technology by incorporating Genuine HID Technology to the majority of our Paxton readers. Consequently, these readers can now decipher HID 125kHz Proximity tokens when licensed with an activation card. To offer additional flexibility, these readers can also be configured to provide Wiegand output, which can be activated via a separate card.

Installation – The reader is installed by following the wiring instructions provided on the control unit label. The package includes a backplate that ensures accurate mounting. To secure the reader to the backplate, we have provided security screws.

Operation – To use the reader, a user simply needs to hold a token within close proximity to the reader. Once the token is read, the control unit verifies the access permissions associated with that user. Access is either granted or denied based on this verification.
