RFID or “radio-frequency identification” refers to a technology in which digital data is encoded in RFID tags, cards or labels and later captured by a reader via radio waves to elicit a certain response.
RFID cards have a broad use range that spans many industries.
A Card reader/scanner transmits a radio signal that
requests the chip in the card to register. When the signal encounters the antenna of the chip, the radio waves supply it with energy and the chip checks the signal and verifies the information.
