External Database Connections

One of the biggest upgrades in the XS edition is the ability to connect to external databases. CardPresso XS supports XLS, XLSX, CSV, and TXT files, so you can import data directly into your card design. This is perfect for organisations with staff lists, student databases, or membership spreadsheets. Once connected, the software automatically pulls in data, which means you can print personalised cards in bulk — fast, accurate, and with less manual input.

Advanced Design Features

CardPresso XS includes everything from the XXS version, plus added tools to take your designs further. You can create conditional elements on the card layout — for example, changing the colour of a badge based on a person’s department or role. This makes it easier to visually separate users by type, such as “Staff,” “Visitor,” or “Contractor,” all from a single card template.

You also get access to more 1D barcode types, giving you more options for encoding data directly on the card. This is ideal for time and attendance, inventory tracking, or secure building access systems.

Photo Managment Tool

XS includes tools to manage photo imports and even supports auto image capture from connected webcams. This is ideal for live ID card production during events or onboarding sessions. Just snap, crop, and print — no need to edit photos separately.

Improved Database Management

In addition to external file imports, XS also lets you filter, search, and sort data from within the software. This gives you better control over large datasets and makes batch printing far more efficient. You can even preview the design with each data record before printing — so what you see is exactly what you get.

Printer Compatibility and System Support

CardPresso XS works seamlessly with all major card printer brands including Magicard, Zebra, Evolis, Fargo, IDP Smart, and more. It runs on both Windows and macOS, giving you complete freedom to use it in any environment.

Simple Licensing & Upgrades

As with all CardPresso editions, XS is available via USB dongle or activation code. And if you find yourself needing more features — like support for networked databases, smart cards, or contactless encoding — you can upgrade anytime to XM, XL, or XXL without reinstalling your software or starting from scratch.
