Paxton Proximity backbox reader – MIFARE®

About – Proximity backbox readers are designed for use in conjunction with Switch2 and Net2 systems. They are perfectly suited for standard electrical backboxes, thus offering a tidy and efficient installation solution for both new constructions and renovations. It’s important to note that the backbox reader is intended solely for indoor use.

Installation – The backbox reader comes equipped with rising clamp terminals situated at the back. A reader cable is used to link the reader with the control unit. To ensure an easy and accurate setup, both the reader and the control unit come with clear labelling. The reader can be securely affixed to a standard backbox with the inclusion of fixing screws.

Operation – The reader detects a token by having it positioned near the reader. Once a token is detected, the control unit retrieves the user’s access permissions. Depending on the information retrieved, access is either granted or denied. A green LED flash signifies that access has been granted, whereas a red LED flash indicates that access has been denied.
